An extra story: Cottage Comforts

Cottage Comforts
Every item of the morning was seen to. The roasted elk was dolled, the sun was brilliant in the sky, the sea breeze lulled over the short grass of the cottage lawn, and Kai Linaa could not have asked for a better picture of precision. She looked upon her companions with all the delightedness a full heart could bestow. She laughed at the Den Asaan industriously attempted to removed a desired piece of burned elk meat from the commander’s mouth, awed at Obhantaa Leraa as he played with his hangaara by tossing pieces of meat for her to fetch, smiled bashfully at Otenohi for his attempted to steal from Rautu’s plate while he was distracted, and sighed happily at Unghaahi for sitting beside her at such a time. She nestled against her mate and leaned into the crook of his arm. His thickened skin and dense muscular structure created a protective space for her and she felt there was no one happier than her in Frewyn. No one else could possibly feel the same felicity as she and if there was such a person, one could match her in spirits or company at the present. She had only to be pleased with the day and she resolved never to be concerned again with feelings of discredit and unworthiness.
Once their meal was done, the promised tour of the cottage was made and Kai Linaa was bid to lead the way. She walked with Unghaahi to the front door but was hesitant to enter. She could not believe that this home of coziness and majesty was hers. She felt that if she touched the red door at the front of the house that the cottage should vanish and it should all have been a great dream, but the moment Unghaahi placed his hand on the doorknob and turned it, the enjoyment of the event only increased. He ushered Kai Linaa inside and requested that she roam freely about cottage to explore as she liked.
The first room of the house to be explored was a large common room. There was a fireplace and space enough for the entire part to sit, two storage rooms, a den for the firewood and the comfort of many pelts lining the ground. Beyond the common room was a large dining room attached to the kitchen. The dual room was large enough for a party of excellent size, or perhaps for four giants, one moderate woman and a slender elf. It was adjacent to the side yard, which was a tender outcropping complete with a small pond and a bridge to cradle over it. Upon seeing the sight outside the side window, Kai Linaa rushed out to examine the pool and check for fish. There were fish, indeed a plethora of them, swimming down from a small stream that seemed to originate from the Sethshire foothills in the distance.
To the back of the home were the woods already visited by Otenohi and Rautu. They gave a report of them, remarking that there seemed to be few predators within them and they would give enjoyment of exercise in the mornings and a favourable hunt at nightfall. With the account of the environs given, the first floor of the home had been explored and the stairs were sought to enjoy the excitement of the second level. The top floor was divided into three large rooms. There was a room for bathing with a large wooden basin and a water pump beside it, another common room with a fireplace and a reasonable bedchamber to the side. It was then decided that since this cottage was meant to be Kai Linaa’s, she and Unghaahi would benefit from the comforts of the bedchamber while visitors would make themselves at home on the ground floor and make use of the basin when necessary.
Unghaahi quietly told the others he wished to have a moment alone with his mate so that they might investigate the bedchamber together. He was given many suggestive looks by Otenohi and before the inquisitor could make any allusive commentary on what was to be the chief purpose of their search, the commander pushed Otenohi and Rautu back down the stairs to give the Den Amhadhri his isolation. Unghaahi turned to see Kai Linaa stepping slowly into the common room with a sense of wonder in her bearing. Her back was toward him as she surveyed the lush sheepskins underfoot. He took the opportunity her wonderment afforded him to ambush her from behind, lift her into the air, and express his contentment at seeing her so satisfied with a flurry of kisses. He made playful growls, osculating and tickling her until she begged for released. He obeyed, laying her upon the ground and placing his hips between her legs, descending upon her with equal want for her comfort and her tenderness.
“Ghaala,” his low voice rumbled, “I am honoured to receive your approval of your gift.”
“Approval is not the right word, Unghaahi,” she laughed. “I cannot think of what to say that would express how overwhelmed I am, but I hope to show you.”
The glint in Kai Linaa’s varied eyes caused Unghaahi to taper his gaze and smile.
“I think we should make certain the wooden floor can withstand your weight,” she purred.
The Den Amhadhri lifted to his knees and eagerly agreed to test the strength of the barrier between levels. His expression grew determined and ravening. He removed his kilt and cloth and did away with his mate’s wrapped dress. He proclaimed he was well prepared to examine the buoyancy of the wood beneath her and leapt upon her, assailing her with every hint of might the force from his drives could bestow.
Cries of elation and the telling sounds of Ataas Traala in the midst of Khopra were heard. Otenohi laughed to hear the pounding sounds of the floor above them being beaten by a voracious Amhadhri and a teasing woman while the commander and Den Asaan eyed each other with complacent smiles. Obhantaa hoped Kai Linaa would not break her gift when she had only just received it but he was assured that purchasing something in Frewyn gave the owner the right to destroy as one saw fit.
