Happy Holidays from everyone in the Diras castle keep Gift Giving                 When the evening of Ailineighdaeth came to Diras, Alasdair had called a small party of intimates to attend him in the royal chamber for the ceremonial giving of gifts. The couples who were invited claimed they would give each other presents on their own time if not having done so already but those who were called were warned that the king had a gift for every one of them. He asked that none of the attendees of the aforesaid party feel obliged to give anything in return, as Alasdair wished to be the chief shareholder in the happiness of the day. Conveyed to the royal chambers were Tomas and Mrs. Cuineill, Kai Linaa and Unghaahi, the commander and the Den Asaan, all of them prepared to allow the king his desire of giving them unnecessary presents. Cottage Holiday                  Unghaahi and Kai Linaa remained in each other’s private embrace for some time, during which the remainder of the party busied themselves with tasks about the house. Storerooms needed to be filled, cupboards needed replenishing, and certain corners of the cottage required care. A broken hinge, a cracked floorboard, these were the small occupations that engaged their interested and making the home as faultless as possible was an object everyone was pleased with undertaking. Otenohi and Rautu were deployed for fixing the minor imperfections of the house while Obhantaa and the commander were requested to remove any unwanted invaders. Cottage Comforts                 Every item of the morning was seen to. The roasted elk was dolled, the sun was brilliant in the sky, the sea breeze lulled over the short grass of the cottage lawn, and Kai Linaa could not have asked for a better picture of precision. She looked upon her companions with all the delightedness a full heart could bestow. She laughed at the Den Asaan industriously attempted to removed a desired piece of burned elk meat from the commander’s mouth, awed at Obhantaa Leraa as he played with his hangaara by tossing pieces of meat for her to fetch, smiled bashfully at Otenohi for his attempted to steal from Rautu’s plate while he was distracted, and sighed happily at Unghaahi for sitting beside her at such a time.
